The Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid is a five-passenger sedan that offers the ability to drive in all-electric, or gasoline-electric modes. A hybrid system such as this eliminates range anxiety while maximizing efficiency and flexibility.

The Sonata Plug-In Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injected four-cylinder engine and powerful electric motor that combine to produce 202-hp. The power is sent through a six-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels. Traction control, stability control, anti-lock brakes, automatic headlight control, rearview backup camera, blind spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert and more, combine to ensure occupant safety. Interior features include heated front seats, power driver seat, smart-trunk opener, back-up camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear USB charge port, Bluetooth and Blue Link. The Limited trim comes with leather interior, heated and ventilated front seats, power passenger seat, memory system for driver seat and exterior mirrors, heated steering wheel, navigation system, Infinity audio and wireless phone charging. Also on the Limited, safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, smart cruise control with stop/start capability, automatic high beams and rear parking assist sensors are included.

For 2018, the Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid has been refreshed with exterior updates that include the front fascia, headlights and taillights, hood, front fenders, grille, trunk lid and redesigned eco-spoke alloy wheels.
